First, I must confess a personal fault. My boat
is chaos, my truck is chaos, I can't find what I just put down, and I spend a lot of time looking for stuff I know I've got somewhere. I do a number of trades, simultaneously, so I have a lot of tools, a lot of hardware
, and a lot of stuff. It is maddening.
Second, I'm always searching for the ideal tool storage
system, hardware storage
, and information storage, all to little avail because of my proclivity to distraction and acquiring more stuff when I can't find what I was looking for (a preposition is a poor thing to end a sentence with).
Today I found an interesting article that, hopefully, will help me straighten out my miserably complicated life. I respectfully pass it on to others who may suffer from a similar condition: 5S Your Workshop
Inculcating (one of the precepts suggested in the article) the five suggestions into my life may help me to keep the level of crap down on my boat
, keep my tool boxes capable of being lifted out of the truck, and keep me from spending half my time trying to find the chisel or screwdriver I just had in my hand.
I respectfully submit this offering so as to assist in the spiritual and productive enhancement of the lives of my fellow boat grunts.
