Zerex vs Shell Rotella Antifreeze

Hi All,

I am doing a coolant change on my Beta Marine 50 motor. Beta recommends Shell Rotella Nitrate Free Extended Life coolant. I am having a hard time tracking this down where I am. I am wondering if a Zerex Nitrate Free Extended Life coolant (or some other brand) will be OK.

Any thoughts or input welcome!

Thanks!

The Zerex Nitrate Free Extended Life coolant is a good choice. Use it.

I installed a Beta 50 one year ago. I can find nothing in the manuals that specifies a specific brand of coolant. Where did you find this info ?

As a statement, Beta factory only recommends an Ethylene Glycol coolant. Versus Propylene Glycol.

Beta USA recommends Shell Rotella ELC NF. Available at most any auto parts stores in the USA.

I got a different answer from BETA US.
I won't add my answer here as it now sounds like dock talk.

I spoke with the very helpful folks in the Beta office in Arapahoe, NC yesterday and they said their preference was Shell Rotella ELC NF, but other coolants that meet the spec should also be OK.
