Yet another Volvo 2003T Cold start problem

Hi Team

I have read several posts about starting these 2000 series Volvos and thought we had ours mastered. However I am stuck in New Zealand and the boat is the Philippines. Recently by video call a managed to get a local guy to start and run the engine, however on another attempt it refused to go. A local diesel specialist has investigated and found there is a broken lever (picture Attached) inside the Governor Mechanism. This lever appears to be the fuel shutoff and with it broken the rack is in the engine stop position. My question is? Does anybody know where to get a Repair or Overhaul Kit including a new lever for a 1989 2003T ?

Volvo part store (just google volvo penta parts) shows as out of stock. Might get luck finding an old mechanic who is a pack rat with lots of bits and pieces hanging around. Lots of these engines are getting retired/replaced, so used stuff is out there.

Yes, that's why I put up this post, if any body knows of someone or somewhere I might be able to get parts for the governor mechanism please let me know.
Thanks

If the part you're looking for is VP#840659, then the US supplier Marine Parts Express lists it as no longer in production. Still, I would at least contact them and see what they had to say. I think they work on a lot of old Volvos, and might have a junker laying around. It looks like your alternatives are finding an old part, repairing the one you have, or getting somebody to fabricate a new one.
