Yanmar Fuel Filter

Spin on filters with water sensors is what trucks have used for years and it works great for trucks.
Racor has been the gold standard almost forever for boating. I'd run the factory Yanmar system myself, assuming you buy clean fuel and keep it clean and bug free, I'm sure it will be fine.
I'd prefer Racor as if nothing else parts are available everywhere, but not sure I would spend the money, but I won't buy a new boat either, so I guess I'm just cheap.
Are these new engines common rail? If so some common rail engine have very severe filtering requirements, it's just possible a Racor may not filter fine enough, be worth asking before you change.
