Re: Yanmar Engine Mounts

From what I understand the soft Yanmar rubber mounts were to help with the idle vibration but were limited in the high load where there is no shaft thrust bearing. The poly mounts are better with oils & thrust. There is not a lot of cost difference. Yes the Australian one will drop straight in. They are made locally to me but as yet I have not changed to them. Seen them at boat shows etc & would change to them if mounts are needed.

The technical assistance at the Polyform distributor here in the states was awesome and they make custom mounts for Yanmar replacements.

Biggest advantage is that the Polyform mounts are not constructed out of metals and therefore will NOT rust in the future. We are very happy when them so far.

Sounds interesting - do you have a link to the manufacturer?

Re: Yanmar Engine Mounts

I think MoonlightSailor may have meant PolyFlex rather than PolyForm. They are an Auusie company and make direct Yanmar replacement mounts. Very popular down this way.

Re: Yanmar Engine Mounts

One thing I missed when replacing the Yanmar mounts was the length of the coach screws that was used on my boat. The thickness of the base of the mounts required a longer screw!! Intrestingly the retail cost in the USA was cheaper than buying at the Australian factory door!!
