I don't know what constitutes a regular 2QM but the OP's engine has some differences to my 2QM20
. I also don't the subtle differences between a 2QM and a 2QM20
I can note the following differences between his engine and my 2QM20 that maybe helpful to the OP.
The location of the injector pump
. On my 2QM20 it is on the block below the exhaust
manifold and towards the gearbox
end of the lift pump
where the OP's engine has a cover fitted.
The OP's engine has a belt driven water
pump while my 2QM20 has direct driven raw water pump
on the end of the camshaft (located pretty much behind what is the injector pump
on the OP's engine).
On the OP's engine there is one oil
fill cap in the centre of the valve cover whereas my 2QM20 has two oil
fill caps on the valve cover, one each roughly above the exhaust
It certainly seems to some variant of the 2QM / 2TR engines.
