Yanmar 4jhte55 still some smoke after new injectors

My Yanmar 4jhte55 was a bit smokey and was suggested that the injectors get serviced. They were not performing well during service so I had to replace with new ones.
After replacing still a bit smokey and i can see some fuel in the water although everything seems to run well.
Took it out for a good run and looked ok but next day starting her up and running for a while at the marina, still a bit smokey and some fuel ending in the water.

Any ideas where to look..?

Re: Yanmar 4jhte55 still some smoke after new injectors

If you are not burning all the fuel you are injecting, there are only a few possible causes.

*Poorly atomized fuel
We can probably eliminate this, since you have all new injectors.

*Too much fuel
*Poor fuel injection timing.
Could be the performance of the injection pump is not up to par.

*Not enough air
Not likely, this is a naturally aspirated engine, right?

*Poor compression
And this too...

Are you sure it's fuel not oil? Is the engine performance normal? Does it still get up to the full RPM at wide open throttle?

Re: Yanmar 4jhte55 still some smoke after new injectors

The seems to run fine...sitting on about 2800 the oher day and ran fairly smoothly.
There is the rainbow like sheen in the water and does smell a bit like Diesel....I figure if the smoke was dark colour then maybe oil but it is a white smoke.
It's not aheap of smoke unless you give it a burst but out there running on higher revs, seems clean but I guess you are more likely to see it sitting in a Marina berth.
