Hi Folks,
Bayfield 36 Located Lunenburg NS. My
service interval per the manual is 150 hrs (Factory
Yanmar 44 JHE, 2200 hrs ) I have a couple of questions.
Engine was fully serviced May 2021 and has had about 75 hrs put on since that time, stored over
winter:
1). The manual recommends draining
fuel tank annually before
storage. This seems backwards to what I have always done (fill tank) am I correct?
2). Annual
service. Do most folks change
oil with a warm
engine after
layup? What about filters if you haven't reached 150? Same for
fuel filters?
3). In the operating instructions,
yanmar recommends a procedure of draining
water from the block after each use, or before
storage. I have never heard of this practice, sounds immensely cumbersome. Any thoughts?
Thanks in Advance
Rod
