Yanmar 40hp 3JH5E AIR FILTER

The YANMAR maint manual refers to the AIR FILTER to be cleaned/changed at regular intervals.
My engines 2010 models only have a large grey plastic box attached. I have removed&inspected them. I could not see any filter material!
Any advice?

There isn't an air filter. My 4JH2E also instructs to clean the air filter, but it is just an air silencer with what I would loosely call a "filter". Looks like this:



however, the old one looked even less like a filter, I'll try to find a picture of it

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but.... I also have a 2010 3JH5E. Is there really no air filter? Nothing to clean?
