Yanmar 3GM30 Gear Case Gasket and sealant

I'm getting ready to re-install the Gear Case cover on my 3GM30F. According the the Seloc manual, I'm to coat both sides of the gasket with Threebond 3B8-500. Here's my problem - can't find that anywhere so not sure just what it is.

I'm not comfortable using anything on a new gasket, but I get why the manual might advise it.

I've seen MANY posts on this subject, but they've all left me confused. Any suggestions on the replacement for Threebond?

However your application for the gear case casket is not hi tech. Any of the multitude of gasket cements will do the job.

IMO - if both surfaces are clean, flat and corrosion free, the gasket alone is sufficient but if you are belts and braces type of person, a thin smear of any oil resistant gasket sealer could be used. There is no pressure requirements in this application.
