when i got this
boat 2 yrs ago i fixed a lot of stuff on the
engine including fitting a thermostat which was completely absent. I was told by a
yanmar mech. who i trust that this eng. should run at no more than 52 C (125 f) but it doesnt have a temp gauge so i check it by feeling the rocker cover - on a longish run recently she seemed to be running a little hot and id like to fit a temp gauge - my mech. also said one of the things that can kill her quick is
overheating. Anyone fitted a temp gauge or have any
advice about how i might do so would be much appreciated (alas, my mech. has retired, bloody shame, he was a fountain of knowledge)
