Yanmar 2QM15 Oil Sensor Thread Size

I have finished rebuilding our Yanmar 2QM15 engine. It comes with the standard array of idiot lights for hot water temp and low oil pressure. I have designed and want to install an engine monitoring system. My problem is I am getting two answers for the type of fitting for the oil sensor. I have been told that the fitting thread size is 1/8"-28 which is a British standard for pipe threads, and 1/8"-27 which is a National (American) pipe thread.

Does any one know for sure what this thread size truly is?

Thanks,
Brian
