Do you know what blocked it & what pointed you to find that fault?
When you say service diesel pump are you talking lift pump or injector pump?
i'm in lockdown so plenty of time to follow threads but understand if you are busy.
I was talking to the supplier in Malta and he told me to check the return to be on the safe side. The problem was that the previous owner used a pipe which was not suitable for diesel, so it started to crack from the inside and parts of the rubber blocked the fuel. I am intended to take the high pressure pump for a service, since I am still thinking that it is the culprit. Re lockdown - take care and thanks for your replies.

Thanks for posting the reason.
ahh the old breaking down rubber pipe trick.
Hope you find a reputable injection shop as I suspect some do no rebuild & charge for it or do unnecessary rebuilds. The one you want is one thats known to have done the IP test & said its ok & just charged for the test.
If that never happens it's a red flag.
Still following with interest to see if IP is at fault. I have my doubts but it's certainly a possibility.
Good luck.
