wobbly fan pulley on Perkins 4107

The shaft coming out the water pump is solid. The fan is quite loose, wobbling around when turning. What holds the fan onto the flange on the pump shaft? Is it the 4 bolts? Do they ever come out completely or just loosen? I cannot feel any bolts projecting out the flat surface of the sheave which would be the case if they were coming out of their attachment in the holes of the flange.

You may not get answers to this question on the Cruisers Forum because the 4-107s in boats don't have fans.

If it is a clutch type fan may be a bad fan. if no clutch then it is loose bolts.
