White smoke from Yanmar 3JH4E

Last summer I asked for and got good advice following a serious overheating of my starboard engine (Yanmar 3JH4E).

Since then, I have run it about 50 hours and feel things have settled down. I now have the following symptoms:

1. On cold start up, which is immediate with no hesitation, there is heavy white smoke gradually diminishing until almost invisible after about 10 minutes. Engine then runs normally.
2. Oil and water consumption are nil to negligible .

My thoughts are:

1. Glazed Cylinders (but then why does the smoke stop)
2. Blown Head Gasket. Seals up when engine warm.
3. Improperly torqued head, same as above.
4. Bad rings?

Prior to the massive overheating, engine ran like a swiss watch - just like its twin on the port side.

Would appreciate any insights and opinions on the doing the repairs myself - I am a reasonably competent wrench.

Thanks as always,

Michael Brown
