White smoke

We have a Yanmar 3gm30f in our Beneteau Oceanis 36cc.

Recently I noticed white smoke from the exhaust when idling the motor after a 20-30 minutes normal operation at 2.800 RPM

The white smoke only occurs when the boat has been sailed by sails only and the motor is idling after a 20-30minutes run.

Is it possible that the heeling of the boat when for sail in some way will cause too little inflow of raw water when idling the engine after a 20-30 run at 2.800 RPM ?

Re: White smoke

Are you seeing any unusual oil or cooling water consumption?

Did you notice any change in engine temp? On the gauge or by touch in the engine room.

Have you watched the raw water ejection in the exhaust while heeled.

Re: White smoke

I think I have found the culprit of the problem.

A part og the raw hose from the strainer to the water pump">raw water pump was below the intake on the raw water pump.

After correcting this there is much water at the exhaust when the engine is working in idle. ( Assume the raw water pump had difficulties in supplying sufficient water when having to "lift" the water.
