Google "History of the Universal Motor Company". you'll get a hit from the Catalina Owners site listing the Kubota engine models that correlate to the Universal models. Then Google the engine model to find the tractor model it was used in. (Would have been nice if they put the tractor model in the list but they didn't). For example my Universal 5411 / M15 is a Kubota Z500 engine used in a B5100 tractor. Go from there to get your parts from Kubota sources. 1/10th to 1/2 the price compared to Westerbeke. I bought new injector nozzles on Ebay for $40 each, Westerbeke wanted $401 each. The Kubota shop probably will not know anything about the Universal models, but will have the parts if you know the Kubota tractor the engine was used in.

Kelvin diesels may be the exception

Hmm you're right. Here's another go at an engine that wasn't built as a marine engine and isn't in V configuration

Lugger or Beta.................. something based on a tractor engine........... had a 34 foot fishing boat with a 90 hp Lugger with 12,000 hours on it and it would have gone on for another 10,000, but it sunk
