Where do I buy diesel on GIWW Houma LA

We are cruising west in our trawler and we are spending the night in Houma LA. Anybody have any advice about buying some diesel in this area or west? We can likely get it at the tugboat dock in Morgan city but do not know if there is a better place between Houma and Morgan city. Thank you. Bob

If you can make it to Abbeville, Shell Morgan Landing is the cheapest you will find.

Thanks man. We are going to try rio fuel dock in Morgan City. They mostly service tug boats but maybe they'll let a little 44footer in.

Active Captain shows a fuel dock at mile 57 called Retif Oil and Fuel. https://activecaptain.com/X.php

I stopped at the fuel dock that Active Captain called Retif. They were very nice and let me spend the night. They are set up to put large amounts of fuel into towboats that have accounts with them. Putting a few gallons into a sailboat that had no account with them was -- shall we say -- different! But we got 'er done!

Thanks for the information. This is bob and norma on our trawler "firefly". We are heading west, might end up back in kemah again. Or possible port Aransas. Seems we just can't stay out of Texas. We're going to fuel up in Morgan city at the Rio fuel dock. Today's prices are $2.44 cash. A bit higher for cc.

Morgan Fuel Dock at Intracoastal City can provide fuel and dockage with power and water if needed and there won't be any need for "different" fuel procedures. Just a regular fuel dock. Water can be had at the fuel dock and if you choose to stay for the night, there is plenty of space. Chuck

Wow. Great to hear from you guys again. A trawler???? Welcome to the club. We fueled up and overnighted at the Morgan dock often. If you wind up in Kemah, tell everyone we said hey. Stay safe. Chuck
