What is a swisher plate?

I came across that term on the hydraulic drive thread....

Is it a local term or what?

I suspect they meant the same thing as "swash" plate. Never heard of "swisher" plate myself.

In a piston type pump there is a swash plate that is adjustable which puts out the amount of flow the pump produces. It adjusts the stroke of the pistons.
