I can't offer a more general solution for Mitsubishi parts, but these guys

have been able to get me aftermarket coolant water pumps for various Westerbeke engines. They also rebuild water pumps. Very helpful and knowledgeable guys.

The Mitsu model & serial numbers are stamped on the block, around the governor. Not easy to find but its there. See below.
Once you have it, google mitsubish and the engine model, like mine: L3E. What shows are the non-marine versions of course but you can see the major parts location and the similarities to the Westy. Vetus egines use exactly the same block as mine.
