VP 2003 - Temperature Alarm

Hello,

Does someone know can I exchange the volvo part 833927 (Thermo monitor - Alarm) ( £120+) for this one - to which I can attach alarm and dial:

https://www.asap-supplies.com/produc...x-1-5-ke00122#

it seems the KUS is a bit longer - the part that goes inside the engine ( cylinder block)

original looks like the part inside the engine is 30mm and the KUS one is : 41mm

Re: VP 2003 - Temperature Alarm

Does the new sensor physically fit, that is, does not hit the far side of the water jacket before it is tightly in place? If so, go right ahead.

That said, you may be able to find the sensor Volvo used without spending Volvo parts prices. Volvo didn't design their own; they took one off the industrial shelf. The same goes for starters, water pumps, fuel pumps, and everything else outside the castings. Their prices are outrageous because they are having to maintain a stock despite very few customers needing a water temperature sensor. Here's what I found by Googling images of "engine water temperature sensor":
