VP 2003 Heat Exchanger Disassemble

I'm trying to take a part my VP2003 heat exchanger and clean it thoroughly ...

BUT the side plate(end plate) with the two hols is stuck and cannot get out... the plate with no holes got out OK..

My understanding is that it need to get out together with the bar in the middle as the bar is screwed to it. Am I right ?

Any suggestions how to dismount it will be well appreciated as when I try with a screwdriver I actually bent the housing but cannot get out the plate at all...
