Volvo Penta Exhaust Elbow

I had to replace the exhaust riser on one engine ,MD 2010/20 last year,

and expect the other to go soon ! the Volvo type is a poor iron casting , has anyone found a stainless elbow to replace it with ? could an aluminium one be used , like the aftermarket Perkins type?

Yes you will be able to find one. I was going down the same track with an MD2030, but I was advised that stainless and cast iron aren't too friendly as dissimilar metals. Just something to think about.

You can ask a local shop who's profession is stainless steel parts manufacturing.
