I’ll be replacing my Volvo Freshwater cooled MD17D over the next few weeks. Over the past 2 summers It overheated several times and the issue seems to a blockage inside the block. I replaced and checked everything on both the freshwater and seawater cooling systems. Other than overheating, it’s been very reliable.
With the new BETA 35 already on order, I’m wondering if anyone out there is interested in any parts or the entire engine. I have lots of spare parts many of which have been recently rebuilt and you VP owners know how expensive spare parts are. I’m located in New England and would be love to unload a few items over the next few weeks and months.

I realize this is an old post but I am in desperate need of the small hollow screws that attach the fuel line directly to the injectors. Do you still have these by any chance. I’m also in NE and will drive to you ASAP if you have them.

Hugh take one of your injectors and one fuel line to your nearest farm tractor repair shop or semi truck shop and get the banjo bolts you need .
Better if you still have at least one of the origional banjo bolts . About any auto parts shop should be able to get them for you .

As Newhaul says, go to your local diesel fuel injection service shop to source these hollow screws and copper washers. The MD17 fuel system is all built by Bosch, and usually readily available at a shop such as Boston Fuel Injection Service.
