Volvo MD7A Injectors

Hello. Can anyone tell me if there are supposed to be copper washers on the injectors where they fit into the head on a volvo MD7A. Thanks

Re: Volvo MD7A Injectors

There are no copper washers used under the injectors on the MD7A engines.

The injector sits in a copper tube which is swedged into the head so a washer is not necessary.

Re: Volvo MD7A Injectors

NO washers here, the injector sits down in the head inside a copper sleeve which is a tight fit in the head sealed by a special high temp Oring, so if the injector came out easily and didn't disturb the copper sleeve it should go right back in and seal,

I have occasionally had to use sparingly very fine lapping paste on the seat and quietly lap in a few times , clean up then re install if it does not seal first time around, not something recommended but it does work if you have a leak issue

Cheers Steve
