Volvo MD17C Drop In Replacement?

Hey guys, i’ve just come off of my boat where i can’t get my md17c to even turn over. i’ve tried the mystery oil, injectors are out, i’ve used a breaker bar, i’ve tried the battery and the breaker bar, nothing is working.

I’m looking to hear from others who have done a similar re power. Anyone have any recommendations for a drop in replacement?

Best I've found for a drop in replacement is Beta Marine Pacific Northwest will make a custom engine mount that will fit on your existing engine bed. Then install your Beta Marine engine on it and you can do a standard propeller shaft alignment:

There is no pricing listed and I have no idea if any of the other Beta Marine distributors offer a similar service.

You'll still have to verify that your prop shaft is the correct length for your engine/transmission combo.

I have a 1978 Rafiki 37 cutter rigged sailboat. I'm planning on replacing my MD17C next year so I've been looking at the blogs. If there's anything else available I've missed it.
