After the primary fuel filter for checking the health of your primary fuel filter.

Gauge goes after the primary filter and before the lift pump. As the filter fills up, the vacuum rises. Actual numbers are different in most installations. Mine reads zero with a new 2 micron filter and I change the filter at 7"hg.

If you haven't already, get one with a "drag pointer." This allows you to read the max vacuum without the engine running.
