Universal 5424 Won't Fire

Thanks Mark, I agree about the air but a mechanic convinced me to try a LITTLE starting fluid into the manifold so we did but still no fire . When I connect the removed injectors to the injector pump and crank
they break and pulse out atomized fuel (maybe not enough) but
I would think that too much air would compress in the injector and keep it from cracking. No?

Turns out that the compression test was misleading. After pulling the head found number 3 and 2 ex valves leaking (lower 2 closest to ex manifold). Also those pistons pitted and corroded. Number 1 cyl was ok. A (second) mechanic thinks some water got into the 2 cyls somehow and slowly ate the valves.

Had a simlilar problem on my 5432. Would start with ether or when warm but not first thing in the morning. Was installing solar controller near behind the engine dash cluster when noticed several fuses one of which led to glow plug switch. Sure enough it was busted. Replaced it and it starts as it should.
