Universal 25 and Hurth 50

My universal is running great, however the hurth 50 is shot. I was told its cheaper to buy reman than have a shop rebuild it. I was looking at the zf12m as a replacement. Any suggestions? Looking for something that will bolt up with the least amount of modification. Or is there another model I should be looking at? Its on a mid 80's Catalina 30'.

The C30 yahoo group might help you out. The C36 skippers have had remarkably numerous transmission issues, but usually on the later engines. www.catalina36.org

Diesel Engine - C34

The key seems to be, in a rebuild, the type of replacement clutch material you get.

The larger ZF10 fits, IIRC.
