Re: Tohatsu 6hp sailpro spares?
Have yet to find non-ethanol gas anywhere in Southern California except some racingfuel at $10-20/gal.

A house is but a boat so poorly built and so firmly run aground no one would think to try and refloat it.
The fuel pumps in the 9.8 Tohatsu are notorious for failing. The diaphragm fails and allows fuel into the oil, since they are driven off the cam. If the 6hp has the same type of pump, I would carry a spare fuel pump.... I have gone through 2 pumps in the 7 years I've had mine.
Thank you for this info. My 2018 Tohatsu 9.8 started running irregularly, especially mid throttle, and can cut off at the wrong time. I'll look into replacing the fuel pump. Any other tips for this outboard?
I would first clean the gas line on the motor, and change the fuel filter before I went to the expense and time of replacing the fuel pump. You might want to keep a spare pump though. I would also change the plugs or at least check them as they can tell you a lot about your engine
