Re: Tohatsu 2-stroke dies shortly after running at WOT, hard to restart

Curious. The gray hose that failed. Were these factory assembled with fittings or user made/modified rigs?

Ive had problems with grey hose delaminating too. There is thin plastic layer on the inside which comes detached and obstructs fuel flow. Ive never had good old black rubber fuel line do this...it just gets old and brittle and cracks...usually near fittings where it is flexed..fix is easy, just cut off the bad end and resecure.

I havent bought the grey hose in decades for this reason.

End fittings were assembled by me. I found delamination at the ends and also in the middle of the hose, away from any fittings.

Edit: in case it hasn’t been previously stated, this hose was less than a year old
