Time for new Fuel lines

Replacing the fuel lines soon and it says the minimum size is 1/4 inch. So I was thinking 5/16 or 3/8. Any benefit of going with 3/8?

The larger size will be less likely to get plugged up with fuel tank deposits. They will most likely pass through to the filter which is where they should be filtered out.

i had 1/4" on a yanmar 3GM30. your 3800 might do better with 5/16". you may need to replace all brass fittings too which is easy.

Thanks, just bought 50 feet of 3/8. The lines on there now are original 1994 and they are machine made with the pressed threaded fittings, so all the brass fittings will be changed also. Winter project.
