I'm working on a Nordic
44 with a Volvo engine
and Yacht Specialties pedestal
. I believe the Volvo
is not native to the vessel.
The issue I have is that the engine
controls on the pedestal work
in reverse. That is, you pull back on the throttle to rev the engine and push forward on the shift lever to engage reverse.
I was able to fix the problem with the transmission
by flipping the shift lever on the tranny upside down. I can't do that with the throttle lever on the engine because the stops (idle and max) don't engage with the lever when its upside down. Yes, I know this because I tried it.
I looked at switching the levers in the pedestal but when I do that, they interfere with the wheel
Any ideas out there?
