Re: Starter Problems

Just a note,look a little deeper for the Cause of the problems on a Yanmar JH series..
The Raw water pipe from the pump to H/E or Oil Cooler is notorious for Rusted clamps which leak Salt Water all over the left side of the engine---where the Solenoid,Starter,and Alt. are located. Thats the start of MuchosProblemos!
I've got a 4JH3E with an oilpan that looks like a screendoor...a little saltwater steadily dripping down,can't hardly see it.-tight against the Portside bulkhead.
Hmmm, internittent starting,then the oil leak. The Starter was rusting from the inside out from the trickle running down the case,and the solenoid is directly under
it! The Top of the engine and right side look spotless....Just my thoughts....
