Spare injectors for Volvo Penta 2003

Hello everyone

A friend needs 3 replacement injectors for this old engine but he cannot find them anywhere. The Volvo part number was 859461. Does anyone have any info that may lead to source that can supply replacements for these injectors?

looks like replacement for obsolete part is 860340 but only available through dealer.

It seems your part number 859461 is for nozzle. The part number I gave 860340 is for the entire injector. Both is seems are out of production, but you might have better luck finding 860340 through a dealer as opposed to just the nozzle.

Pretty sure these are Bosch injectors. Check with an injector testing/rebuild shop for cross reference.

There were four different injectors specified for the 2003 depending on serial number and specification, as follows:

Part #840595-- used below serial number 2300042660- info shows still available

Part #860176-- used from 2300042660 and beyond- info shows out of production

Part #860340-- used for engine specification #868233 only- out of production

Part #860792-- used for 2003B models- info shows still available

Those which are out of production might be able to be rebuilt at a fuel shop...as mentioned they are built by Bosch.

I can supply one of 840595....

These nozzels are in Stock at the Central Stock of Bosch in Germany. I had to replace one last year in my 2003t. Volvo had none in stock in Poland and in Germany. I orderd it via a special shop in Hannover Germany, Delivery was next day and price Euro 67. I keep my Moody in Poland.

Hello, The advise you have been given is correct, You need to focus on the fact that the fuel system is all Bosch NOT Volvo. and this will save you a whole lot of grief and money. We have a very early 2003 of 1987 vintage, not called an 'A' engine per-sae but the upgrade was called 'B'.

As noted above, all are Bosch products. Your profile doesn't show a location. If you're on the west coast of the US you can try:

They rebuilt 2 and supplied one entirely new injector for me 4 or 5 years ago. Sorry, can't find the receipt to give you a cross reference. Easiest to take the injector into them and they can cross pretty easily.

There's also a company in Europe, Orbitrade, that seems to sell a lot of VP parts, have found them in various searches but have never actually bought from them.

Some years After, i am very interested to know how you know that. I have an md22lb and i am searching where to have thé good référence for my injector nozzle.


If you have a link with a map between Volvo serial motor number and injector i will be very happy.


I don t want to dismount my injector cause i am at anchor and i m affraid to not have spare parts.

The information comes directly from the VP parts books. The books show all changes made to various parts and the serial number break where the change was made.

You can find various online parts books: VolvoParts Europe, Marine parts Express, etc.

No way, impossible to find it. In all website, there is thé 3 différents injector but no correspondance with motor serial number.
I have find a référence Book but it is juste for 2000 series and no thé old md22.
