Re: Source for Kanzaki Transmission Parts

I have a KM4A and the dipstick cap and stick are separated. Have to push the stick down in the cap to get it to the bottom to read it, still can't though. Pulling it out swipes it clean! Weird design. BUT, I found a small plastic plug of the same material and color in a drawer. What would it do?

Flyingriki,

Its sounds like the threaded portion is stuck in your transmission and that you are sliding the dipstick through it. That isn't the way it is supposed to work. You need to replace it. I happen to offer aluminum replacements that will never break.

Re: Source for Kanzaki Transmission Parts

Greetings all,

I just wanted to let everyone know that I recently ordered, and quickly received, two of Cariblues's custom made aluminum dipsticks, for both of my Yanmars on our Lagoon, and that they are an amazing piece of engineering. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but I believe you get what you pay for and these live up to that belief. After having both of my stock plastic dipsticks fail, like so many others have experienced, it is nice to know that these will easily out live both me and the boat. I have no association or interest in the company but I am a fan of well constructed/engineered systems and share my findings with others when I come across something that may benefit others in similar predicaments.

Safe Journeys!!

Can’t say enough about Bob and his product - really well made part. Well worth the price. A shot of my surprise and my safety wire job until Bob got me the dipstick within a few days.
