Exclamation Re: Smoking Engine whilst cold

be warned:
there is a company from Malaka, calls "Green Aim"...
a diesel distributor.
They do have apply a china-made technique to mix diesel with water, - the result is a very clear fluid (fuel) and sometimes more engine power - the clue is:
they sale it under price... so the bunkers "love" it...
(how else, 20 to 50% water in fuel)

now the WARNING!

THIS KIND OF FUEL RUNS GOOD ONLY 20-30K km on the road by trucks ...
by the ships that may be 100 - 200 hours.
after that comes a horror weak-up.

spoiled engine's parts as a result for example...
here is a photo of such a part from an engine runs 20 hours with that fuel ...

That company now very actively selling this fuel in the North as well, - so ask your bunker (for to be sure,) from whom they buy the fuel...
if there is that "Green Aim" - careful... !

Re: Smoking Engine Whilst Cold

Ok Gents, I have replaced the thermostat and the old one was opening very early ( did the saucepan trick with the new and the old) the operating temp for the thermostat is 74 degrees. Chief Engineer, I think she only has 1 set of glow plugs any chance you could expand, the air temp is around 20 degrees! I have checked the oil and its as clean as gold so there is no water getting into the block, this has only happened since the injectors have been refurbished, any further ideas?

IF COMPRESSION DOWN, -
you will soon see the engine oil will become darker and darker, -
that the 1st sign of the compression down with a reason of liner's wear...

Perhaps the refurbished injectors need to be double checked for calibration?

Re: Smoking Engine Whilst Cold

Have all old copper sealing washers been removed from the injector tube before installation of the reco injectors, if not this will cause your symptoms.
