Small water sep?

For a 10’ RIB. Don’t really need a filter, but had a recent experience that drives this request.
Heavy rain, sudden dink stops that allow a following sea to pound on the tank, and a screwball venting system. Had to get a metric nutdriver to remove the carb drain screw and tiny washer to eject water from the bowl. Hoping for a small plastic or bronze solution. Not a lot of transom room to mount the typical outboard sized spin on system.

Re: Small water sep?

It is not at all clear what you are asking for...

But my best guess is you are looking for some OTHER way of draining water from the carburetor bowl? You need to focus on prevention. Getting water in the the carburetor is a FAIL. The carburetor bowl is NOT a water separator.

How did you get water in your fuel? were you towing the dinghy? Or have it on davits?

For a few reasons, water is getting into the portable tank. Just looking for a small in line water separator.

Like this but wall mounted. Click image for larger version

Re: Small water sep?

I've seen that exact type of filter in use a few times on small boats. They've all had a bracket that mounts the filter to a transom. The threads sticking up from the top mount the filter in your photo to a hole in one leg of the (L-shape) bracket.

Better than relying on a filter, protect the tank from getting water in it in the first place. (120" annual precip. in my locale).
