Shaft Seal Maintenance ?

I have used my boat a lot in the two years I've had her, and although I make probably 80% of my miles under sail, I have still managed to put a lot of hours on the engine -- I've now got about 1300 hours (was 830 when I bought the boat).

I regularly grease my propellor, and change anodes on it, but I have never thought much about the shaft seal. I don't think I even have a manual for it. Do I need to do any maintenance on it?

I don't even know what kind it is -- some kind of dripless seal.

Re: Shaft Seal Maintenance ?

Looks a bit like a "Lasdrop" shaft seal.
