SENDURE heat exchange?use need advise

My Cape Dory 30 MKII has a Sendure installed in one of the lockers.
is filled with antifreeze coolant,outside of the engine compartment (westerbeke 3 cyl)
Stamped 1986 that presume is the year the boat was built,since then a new engine was installed.
Not sure what use is this providing but reluctant to just removed it,but will like to do it as is taking space right in the middle of access
.I believe the Westerbeke has its own.?

It may be a header tank. Pics would help. If it has hoses running to the engine it is probably important!
