Secondaty shifters kit?

I have dual VP D2-55s (catamaran) with standard mechanical cable shifters at helm.

Want to add secondary shifters on the stern for convenient mooring, how do I do it?
Shall I buy the kit from Volvo Penta ($$$) or there are other suppliers of mechanical shifting?

As you say, you can buy the Volvo Penta DS components, but they are also available from Teleflex, Morse, Uflex and others.

Another way to do it, although somewhat more expensive, is to install electronic controls. That way you can "drive by wire" from any number of control stations anywhere on the vessel without worrying about mechanical cable routing issues.
Some of these suppliers are Twin Disc, ZF, Uflex, Glendenning and many more.

I had Kobelt on a tug. A cable shift/throttle is mounted in the engine room and that control allows other electric shift controls be mounted where ever you want. You just run wire to the other stations. Kobelt has dealers all over the world. If you're handy, it's not hard to install.
