Sail drive prop attachment

I'm looking at replacing a folding prop on my Volvo Penta sail drive and a second hand one looks promising. Just wondering if the shaft and keyway size on small sail drives are common among all brands?
Thanks

Saidrive props are mounted on splined shafts and yes, they are all standard.

Splined shaft, yes, not a keyway. Thanks, that makes my choices easier. VP want $3k for a new prop.

Re: Sail drive prop attachment

Why are you replacing the prop?

If you want to go with folding/feathering again look at KiwiProps and Flex-o-Fold. Either can be had for about 50% of what Volvo wants.

Volvo makes zero components of their marine engines and drive trains...they just brand them and mark them up by huge amounts. I dont know who makes their props, but they dont. So just buy pass them and save a chunk of change.

Re: Sail drive prop attachment

Thanks for the advice. Replacing because at some point in its 40 year life time, it has spent time without anodes, causing some of the stock metal to corrode away. This has occurred near the ss pins and I think will have compromised its strength.
