Sacrificial Anodes

I am getting ready to leave for a few weeks and I had the bottom cleaned. My diver emailed me to say that the Sacrificial Anode on my Max Prob was almost gone and the shaft one was down by 3/4. I replaced both at the beginning of the season and only have about 12 hours on the engine so far this year. The boat is moored in a bay.
Anyone know the main causes of this? What should I be checking. I have allot of miles to go.

I guess, stray current would be the first bet and also do you have bonding? Best to get very acquainted with your boats wiring and how this can cause problems. Propellers are too expensive to waste this way.

At the very least, replace those wasted anodes before you go anywhere, and plan on dealing with it ASAP. Props are expensive to replace...although an opportunity to upgrade.

Consider installing a galvanic isolator. This will prevent stray currents in the earth bond from wasting your anode
