Repowering from a Westerbeke W46

The 45T is a low pressure turbo and does not create a lot of extra heat. Particularly at cruise rpm's. You may need to add a ventilation fan. Properly placed, it should work fine. You will need to look at up-sizing your exhaust. Turbos do not like back pressure.

Finally, check your emissions requirements. The Beta 45T is not EPA rated for import into the USA for marine use. Canada may be different for marine applications.

No issue in Canada with this engine's emissions.
The installer is going to put a gauge on the exhaust to check the back pressure and I expect I'll need to upsize it.
It's been interesting changing over. Beta insist on bigger raw water lines but have a much smaller water pump">raw water pump.
