Rebuilding bleed screw tap on Kubota mx25

Hi, I have a minor leak coming from the shaft of the bleed screw tap on my Genset.
It appears that it would be a rebuildable item, so before I pull it apart and possibly make it worse can anyone give me some pointers?

This has happened before and my temporary fix was to wind out tap, wrap shaft in thread tape and wind back in - 5 years latter we are here again.

We cruise full time away from marinas and cars so simply buying another is not really an option especially as it's obvious that it does come apart.

Thanks. (-;

Sounds like you know what to do. Time for more thread tape.

Replace it with a new p/n 14311-6050 . It's never a good idea to use Teflon tape around a pump. Any pump.

Teflon tape is outside the valve so can't see how it would get inside the valve and onto the pump.

Problem is sorted, it would seem it was a not very effective hose clamp.
Replaced with a real one and ran Genset for an hour and paper towel pad is dry.

And thanks for the part number
I have 3 for the same part now

It is also an Apico bleed valve 6598102
And a Westerbeke 300050
