For the Perkins 4-108 engine mounted original filter base, all your fuel and return lines feed back onto the top or sides of the filter housing. So using an off the shelf fuel filter bases will not work. This is why Foley designed their adapter. Unless you are good at bending steel high pressure lines to fit, it would likely be a nightmare

Mostly agree, but they are low pressure copper, not nearly as bad as hp lines.

I stand corrected on my saying HP lines, yes correct they are copper lines. Built into the fuel feed fitting, is a spring/ball in a housing, special fitting to prevent back pressure on your feed line.
