Perkins Sabre M300Ti 300

In the process of buying a new boat with this Perkins Sabre M300Ti 300 2005. Can anyone tell me anything about this engine? I know I prefer the Yanmar 330 but this is what it has. Please let me know what you think of this engine
Thanks
Don

Re: Perkins Sabre M300Ti 300

In theory the Perkins Sabre engines were designed for extended maintenance and less costly replacement parts. The recommended oil change interval is 400 hours. It only has a pleasure rating. No commercial rating. I think 400 hours is too long and parts cost about the same as other similar engines.
I don't see how the maintenance can be less than any other diesel.
