I'm really considering this on my 4.236 as well, my main reason may be different then yours however. On min the diameter of the tube is a different diameter then the
engine connection, originally you uses a special hose from
perkins, which they no longer sell, so no I have to force a smaller section of hose onto the larger of the two sections, it's a PITA, if I just replace the metal tube with hose, it would be the same size and less headache. I don't really see a disadvantage to the hose other then I guess there is a larger area to go bad or get damaged? I dunno what is the advantage of the pipe?
