Well being you, at least we should be able to
rule out bleeding not being done correctly. Although yes, there should be a bleed screw on the IP. You need to bleed the filter, the line to the IP, the IP itself and then the lines to each injector and in that order. However......
I am leaning toward an IP problem if you are suspecting a poor fuel dose. However, the best way of testing that, is to remove an injector,
refit to the fuel line and then crank over and see if you get a spray of fuel. A couple of revolutions at the most should show you what you need to see. You will see one of three things.
A fine spray of fuel, which means fuel system is OK, fault somewhere else.
A poor squirt or dribble of fuel, which means the injectors need servicing. This will flood the cylinder and will not ignite the fuel during
compression.
No fuel at all, which means you could have
a fuel shutoff problem, or
an
injector pump problem.
If it is an IP problem, it is possible the governor or fuel rack is not operating correctly. Unless the IP has been off recently, I would
rule out timing issues. They don't or can't just fall out of time by a tooth or two.
