Perkins M30 oil extractor tube

Hi All!

I've just joined the ranks of those with an M30 (103-10) whose oil extractor tube has broken off. Fortunately discovered before loosing ALL the oil! Just a messy bilge to contend with.

Questions:
1. Where to get a replacement (I have contacted Perkins but haven't yet found the 'build number' they want to determine the correct part), and

2: How to get the bottom section of the tube out of the oil pan? It comes up about half an inch, then stops very solidly. Anyone know what the trick is to get it out?

Thanks in advance!

Gord

I'm not sure of the configuration of the pump out tube on the M30, but here is a pic of the tube used on the Volvo Penta MD2030A & B, which is the same base engine as the M30.

Perhaps the pic will help you get the old tube out of the pan.

Thanks Doug, Your drawing looks exactly like my setup. I did contact Perkins only to find the part is discontinued and unavailable. Maybe I can get somewhere with Volvo Penta. Or maybe will just seal it off and extract thru the dipstick.
